Health Serve Medical Center needs:
(E) Non-clinical Spanish translators work with English-speaking physicians and nurses providing health care for Spanish-speaking patients. Volunteers Some knowledge of medical terms helpful but not required. Volunteers needed Wednesdays between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Office is closed between 1-2 p.m.). Training provided. Minimum age 18. URGENT NEED.
(E) Spanish-speaking family practice and internal medicine physicians, RNs, LPNs, nurse practitioners, and non-clinical Spanish translators to provide primary health care for indigent and/or uninsured Hispanic patients on Thursday evenings from 5:30-8:00. Clinic teams consist of two physicians, 2 nurses, and several non-clinical volunteers. Training provided. Minimum age 18. URGENT NEED.
(E) Physicians certified in family practice, internal medicine, or other closely related field to care for indigent and/or uninsured patients at Tuesday and Thursday evening clinics. Clinic teams consist of two physicians and three nurses. Physicians may volunteer as their schedule permits. Physician assistants also welcome.
(E) Registered nurses, nurse practioners, and licensed practical nurses to assist physicians in caring for indigent and/or uninsured patients at Tuesday and Thursday evening clinics. Duties and responsibilities similar to those required in private practice. Nurses may volunteer as their schedule permits.
(F) Pharmacy Assistant. Check medication samples for expired items, log information in books, and remove from shelves. Requires two to four hours a week, good manual dexterity, and attention to detail. Training provided. Minimum age 18.
High Point Regional Health System needs volunteers for:
(F) Information Desk. Volunteers needed to staff entrance desks, answer phones, transfer calls, direct customers, and greet patients and families. Training provided. Two to four-hour shifts available.
(F) Emergency Department. Volunteers needed to help minimize the anxiety of waiting families by providing regular patient updates. Training provided. Three-hour shifts.
(D) Patient Discharge. Volunteers needed to discharge patients via wheelchairs. Three or four-hour shifts available. Training provided.

Befriend an adult receiving mental and emotional health services. Volunteers who choose a one-on-one friendship must be at least 18 and make a minimum commitment of four hours a month for a year. Volunteers who choose to be matched with group residences must make a commitment of two hours a week for one semester.
Join the agency's speakers' bureau, provide general office assistance, and help with special projects including the agency's free information and referral service.

Extended Care Center: Call bingo for residents on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, or Saturdays.

Medical Library: help check out materials, take returned materials, make copies, and assist visitors. Light computer work. Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. or 1-4 p.m.
Discharge Volunteer: Help with patients who are discharged. Must be comfortable in using wheelchairs and have excellent communication skills. Monday-Friday from 10 am. - 1 p.m. or 1-3 p.m.
